Carrières des Lumières

Description

Shooting of the film in photographs, signed Lucien Clergue

Jean Cocteau met the young photographer Lucien Clergue in 1956 thanks to Pablo Picasso. He talks to him about his project, The Testament of Orpheus and asks for his help, especially for the "gypsy" part because Lucien Clergue knows the gypsy world very well, having photographed it on several occasions. He ends up proposing him to photograph the shooting of his film, between the Carrières du Val d'Enfer in Baux-de-Provence and the French Riviera.

Magnificent testimony in black and white of this incredible poetic epic in the Carrières des Lumières.
